King of kings, majesty, God of Heaven living in me Lyrics

King of kings, majesty,
God of Heaven living in me,
gentle Saviour, closest friend,
strong deliverer, beginning and end,
all within me falls at your throne.

Your majesty, I can but bow,
I lay my all before you now.
In royal robes I don't deserve
I live to serve your majesty.

Earth and Heaven worship you,
love eternal, faithful and true,
who bought the nations, ransomed souls,
brought this sinner near to your throne;
all within me cries out in praise.

Your majesty, I can but bow,
I lay my all before you now.
In royal robes I don't deserve
I live to serve your majesty.

Your majesty, I can but bow,
I lay my all before you now.
In royal robes I don't deserve
I live to serve your majesty.

I live to serve your majesty……

    1. I suggest that it means, that in the presence of His Holy Majesty the only response possible is to humbly bow before Him in awe and reverence. If you think about the disciples in the boat when Jesus had come to them walking on the water and got into the boat..they bowed down and worshipped. Hope this helps

    2. I suggest that it means that in the presence of His Holy Majesty the only possible response will be to bow before Him in awe, wonder, gratitude and thankfulness. I thought about the disciples who 'bowed down and worshipped' when Jesus got into the boat after walking on the water. Hope this helps. It may be helpful also to look up 'bow' in a concordance and see what text and contexts this word is used.

    5. That statement has to be understood in the context of the previous verses of the song. The person is looking at all the quality of God as expressed e.g. he's saying He's the "king of Kings" "God of heaven" who lives in human being, strong deliver, He's a personal God, He's a close friend, also gentle in the way He saves "beginning & the end", so looking at God, the writer just said Magnificent! or Wow! (Majesty), "I can but bow" that is, there is nothing else I can do in the face of this great God but to just bow (respect). I hope this satisfied your question.

  3. To me it means the might I see in God makes me respect Him so much that there's nothing else to do but Bow to Him to show respect, honor & praise.

  5. Should be 'I can't but bow'.
The English phrase doesn't make sense otherwise.

  8. "I can but bow" means the only thing I can do before God is bow in humble worship and adoration. The verse dwells on some aspects of the greatness of God, his being, his character, his deeds, his love, his grace in salvation, and so on, and comes to a climax in "all within me cries out in praise," which is then released in humble wonder and praise as we realise that God clothes us in Christ as we stand before his throne, redeemed only by the death of Jesus in our place for our sins. Our constant weakness and sin makes us worthy of nothing but spiritual death and everlasting fire of punishment, whereas if we are in Christ, God sees us as he sees Jesus-, pure and holy, without stain or spot of sin. So the only proper response is to fall on our knees, even our faces, before him, and offer him all that we are and acknowledge that all that we have is his before it is ours. "Your majesty, I can but bow" says all that in many fewer words. Thank you, heavenly Father, for your Spirit inspiring your servant to write this beautiful song to our beloved Lord, your Son, Jesus our Messiah-King.

  10. Coming before God in humility, acknowledging His greatness and holiness - yet realising how much He loves each one of us with all His heart. Being so humbled by how much He loves us and pours His love and blessings upon us even though we are so unworthy.
